Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Special Education Teacher and I teach a self-contained 4th grade class. My students are ready to learn every single day they walk into the classroom. My school is a Title I school and students come from low income households, all students receive free breakfast and lunch. The students in my class come from Spanish speaking households.
Being a Special Education Teacher I want to make sure my students feel special every time they walk through the classroom doors.
My Project
Everyday my students have their pencil ready and are ready to do our classwork. Unfortunately our classroom pencil sharpener is at its end. With a new pencil sharpener for our classroom, we can eliminate time being wasted when we go searching for a room that has a working sharpener.
My students need an electric pencil sharpener to keep their pencils ready to work.
My students also need index cards and post it big notes. By having index cards in the classroom students can write their sight words and their multiplication tables on it. This will be beneficial for students to keep practicing at home. By having post it big notes in the classroom, I am able to make anchor charts that will allow students to use as guides in the classroom.
