This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Can you imagine sitting in an elementary school and not having a pencil or glue stick? That’s my classroom. I teach in a low income school district and each year more and more cuts are being made to our school and our supplies have dwindled away.
Our school has been drastically affected by the budget cuts, and my students are missing the basic necessities that are used daily in the classroom.
We lack the money and resources needed to purchase the materials that are needed for student’s everyday use. Little things like pencils, glue sticks, and pencil boxes are no longer in our supply closet and it is up to the teachers to purchase these things for our classroom.
My Project
I am asking for pencils, pencil boxes, glue sticks, and supply caddies. These are items we use daily, and are running low or we do not have anymore. From daily journaling in reading, to note taking in math, to drawing diagrams in science, these are necessities in a fourth grade classroom. By providing us with these tools, we can take the worry out of the day, and we all will be prepared and ready to learn.
Please consider funding my project.
This request for classroom supplies will help create a learning environment that gives my students a fair chance. I promise we will use this donation daily in the classroom. Thank you for your time and commitment to my students and their education.
