My students need headphones so that they can work independently and with comfort. Pencils are necessary and I want to be able to supply them when my kiddos don't have one.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach students that come from a variety of different backgrounds including those from low-income families. I also teach students from military families who experience many transitions. The students that I serve are affected by the many changes in life, such as homelessness, deployment and a stressful home life to name a few. At school, they feel safe. My students are eager and ready to learn each day they walk through the door.
I want my students to be lifelong learners who will always strive for success.
I am a Math teacher but I also teach life lessons.
My Project
Oh my goodness, an abundance of pencils is needed when you teach over 100 students a day. This will alleviate the excuses given for not having a pencil when there is a pencil station available with pencils for my students to borrow or take whichever is necessary.
A good pair of headphones is needed when students are working on independent assignments online.
They can go to their quiet place and focus on the task at hand and not be distracted by the sounds of other students working. These materials will allow my students the independence they need to be successful this school year.
