Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from very low socioeconomic backgrounds and school is a safe, fun place for them to come. Many of them also come from different cultural backgrounds and many of them are English Language Learners.
My students love to learn and come to school every day excited about what we will do each day.
They are very creative and love to think out loud about what we are learning. They love it when we are working together and are willing to work hard.
My Project
One of my biggest pet peeves is for my students to be prepared for class. However, that is difficult for so many of my students. I am asking for basic supplies such as pencils, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, highlighters, sharpies, etc. These will be used for almost everything.
Having the basic supplies in the classroom is so important for kids success.
I have seen it year after year when students come to school without even a backpack let a lone a pack of pencils. It is my hope with these supplies that I can continue my ultimate goal as a teacher to reach kids one child at a time.
