Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school in a low-income area where eighty percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of my students are second language learners. Most of them do not have any school experience before entering kindergarten, but they don't let that hold them back. They crave social interaction and an opportunity to express themselves.
My students are kind and hardworking children who enjoy playing and discovering with friends.
They are always motivated and have a very positive attitude toward learning.
My Project
My students need pencils boxes to help store their school supplies such as pencils, scissors, crayons and glue sticks. Before Coronavirus, students would share all of the supplies. Supplies were placed in the middle of the table and all 24 students would use them. This system worked really well because students learned how to share materials. Sadly, this system cannot be used anymore. In order to limit the spread of germs, I am requesting for individual pencil boxes so that each student will have their own school supplies. This will help eliminate the spread of germs and help keep my students safe and healthy in the classroom.
