My students live in a rugged and beautiful town. We live right where agricultural lands meet the coastal waters along the Atlantic. Students grow up learning firsthand about wild blueberries and lobsters.
We love to learn about our world through personal and unique experiences.
We work to understand the people, places and things around us. Our small, historic town has links to the Revolutionary War. My students are creative and hungry for knowledge. We have limited resources available in our school, so we have to be creative to maximize every opportunity for each of our amazing students.
My Project
My students love learning from each other and showing what they know. We use Flipgrid in our classroom, which is an awesome way for my students to create videos about anything and everything. They create teaching videos, questioning videos, and ideas videos, which are shared and commented on over and over.
Using high-quality technology to record our learning facilitates learning and helps my students to see the value in their own knowledge.
They take pride in their own videos and work hard to make them professional. We need an excellent microphone, pop filter, and mic stand for making videos. We also need a laptop stand and Pop Up Pod to make a recording studio in our classroom. Finally we need a QR code scanner to help link our videos to QR codes around the school to share our learning with our entire learning community.
