My students need Pedometers for Physical Eduction class. These are designed for kids and easy to use. The battery is replaceable which will allow us to use them for many years to come.
We have amazing kids at my elementary school. They are kind, motivated and creative. We are the first STEM school in Clear Creek ISD where students use a project based, hands on approach to learning. We are a family here at Ed White where we love and appreciate one another. Hurricane Harvey has made our family even stronger. We came together as a campus to help our students and teachers in their time of need. Parent and community involvement is very important to us. We LOVE our students and want to provide them with the best educational experience possible.
My Project
Providing Pedometers to the students in my Physical Education class will motivate and excite them. All students at my school participate in our Mileage Club running program during their PE class. They keep track of the distance traveled throughout the year with a goal of 26.2 miles or more. Students can also run at recess if they choose to. Participating in Mileage club teaches the students how to set goals, encourage and support one another, work hard, and improve their physical fitness level. Having pedometers will encourage them even more. Throughout the school year, students will track their progress on a personal log sheet. Students can record their step count, calories burned and distance traveled in a given period of time. They can then use this data to examine their own performance, and set challenges for themselves. We can explore how different weather conditions, calories consumed, health conditions and other factors that may affect your data. During class, I can use the pedometers to track the students activity levels. This will help me determine if my lesson is effective and what modifications can be made to increase movement time. These pedometers can help improve the learning experience for both the students and myself! I hope to inspire them to value and enjoy physical fitness for life!
