Pedometers for PE Students!

Help me give my students pedometers to track their steps and reach their goals! In class we create weekly and monthly goals trying to improve our steps. We need enough for every student in the class to participate!

My Students

Everyday the students at our school show up to the gym excited for the opportunity to play, grow, and work on themselves. Many students in our building do not have the opportunity for outside sports programs so PE is a great introduction to sports, teamwork, and friendly competition.

These students come to school each day despite numerous at home and after-school challenges, and they work hard to meet their goals.

When I asked students what they love most about PE, they said a chance to be together, socialize, and play. I am always trying to find fun and interesting new ways for students to get more engaged in the gym!

My Project

These pedometer's will allow students to have their own device and be able to track their steps and take pride in their effort and participation in the gym. Each week students track their steps and try to reach a goal. I have seen such an increase in student involvement and participation when they have a pedometer. Having a full class set means students won't have to trade off and switch in the middle of class. They will be able to the entire class period to work toward their goal and everyone gets equal time!
