Do you need to move during your day? Would a brain break be helpful without interrupting the day? Do you remember being told time after time "Sit down" or Sit still" by your teacher? What if when you needed to fidget, you could pedal while you were still sitting at your desk? I have the answer!
My students are wonderful children who love to learn!
We learn in a variety of ways, but I am always looking for something to help those who are not as successful as their peers. They are always asking for a "Brain Break" or an opportunity to sit on the floor or around the room. Desk pedals give them the opportunity to move but still be stationed at their desks! Although we do not stay in our seats all day, we do have times where seat work is necessary, especially during testing or when they are working on their Chromebooks. During those times, many students become fidgety and uncomfortable. Desk pedals would give the students the ability to move while they are sitting in their seat. The best part is, it won't distract others in the classroom! The link between motor movement and attention is so important!
My Project
Have you ever wanted to get up and move during your work day? Imagine you could move without having to get up out of your desk and interrupt your co-workers. The pedals are noiseless so they do not impact learning environment and allow for instruction and educational activities to continue as normal. The desk pedals are mobile and can be moved anywhere in the room classroom very easily. They simply fit under the desk. Research has shown that students' use of these desk pedals optimized attention and concentration, increased circulation to the body, releases good chemicals to wake up the mind, and there are many more benefits! My students will be using these desk pedals whenever they feel the need and will be able to share with others. It will allow students the opportunity to move around and get their energy out in a non-disruptive and positive way!
My students have a desire to learn and a desire to move.
This will allow the best of both worlds and allow them to succeed in their education. I can't wait to see how this changes the lives of my most active students. This may be the answer they are looking for!
