Help me give my students and all of Windsor Creek Elementary 2nd graders the opportunity to learn more about a local icon-Charles M. Schulz and to be able to do some hands-on learning in the art of cartooning.

My Students

This is a busy, eager diverse group of students. They are full of energy and ideas. They are a curious group. They love reading and exploring new things. Students are on the move and always ready to share their thoughts on what we are learning about.

They love the opportunity to learn through creating and building.

They each have their particular learning style and way they work best. They are motivated and ready to explore and try new ways of learning.

My Project

Students will learn about a local icon Charles Schulz and his creation of the Peanuts by learning how to draw Snoopy or Charlie Brown and creating several crafts to take home, including a Snoopy puppet, Snoopy ears, and finger print cartoon characters. This project supports grade 2 Common Core. This a great opportunity for students to have some hands on learning in art skills while at the same time learning about an important person from their community. This can be an inspiration for students to see how someone can be successful in pursuing their dreams and a chance to see if this kind of art is something they might be interested in.
