Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a very diverse class of third graders this year. Unfortunately, the majority of my students lack the experiences necessary to become lifelong learners due to limited resources. We are a Title I school with free meals for all students. Most of our student population derives from non-English speaking families. The students I serve are predominantly of Hispanic ethnicity and from a low socioeconomic background.
Regardless of their socioeconomic background, my students continue to want to learn!
My classroom is composed of students of different needs and different backgrounds as well as students with different emotional needs. Despite their differences, they come to school eager to learn every day. With your help and collaboration, I would like to give them a better opportunity by providing a healthy and positive learning environment that is equipped with the resources to help them succeed.
My Project
This project is for the request of a Cricut Easy Press, easy press tools, hot wire cutter, and vinyl. These resources will allow us to make our own Tshirts, sweaters, totes, or backpacks with meaningful quotes that will promote a sense of individuality, inclusion, kindness, and love.
We aim that with resources we will be able to send a positive message to all students that will instill unity, respect, and multicultural awareness.
The wire cutters will be used to create posters out of foam that will also send a positive message to our students. These messages will encourage our students to be kind to one another, they will also help create a positive school culture!
