My Students

We are a Title I school located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We have a low socioeconomic population with a predominant African American population.

We work hard to engage students in the learning process since they are at various learning levels.

Students in my 8th grade English class may read on or above grade level, or they may read at 2nd or 3rd grade level.

We are a 1:1 school with iPads which is very helpful. It has made keeping them engaged a little easier.

My Project

Our school has gone 1:1 for iPads which is great! It helps to have technology to engage our students in learning. Some of the apps and programs we use have sound which also is engaging to our students. However, we can't have everyone in the class listening to their lessons at the same time.

Some students bring their own headphones or earbuds; however, not everyone can afford their own.

Having these headphones available in class will allow students to have access to all the apps and programs we use. This will allow the low readers to hear the passages that they are struggling to read on their own.
