This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"The mission of the NJ PBSIS initiative is to build capacity among New Jersey school personnel to implement a multi-tiered system of support that results in equitable access to interventions for behavior, conduct, and social-emotional wellness." PBSIS stands for Positive Behavior Support in Schools. We are a member of the NJ PBSIS initiative, in collaboration with NJ DOE and Rutgers University, and sponsored partially by I.D.E.A. Part B. The grant for PBSIS is very specific: we must purchase rewards that are affiliated with curriculum-based standards. Items such as art or physical education materials (not clothing) are covered.

Items for our glow party are not covered under this grant, so we are requesting various Valentine's related heart items: pins, roses, and keychains.

Students will be able to earn these items as part of the PBSIS initiative for positive behavior. This initiative has been working very well in our schools and we are excited to be able to offer these types of rewards to our students.

Thank you for supporting our project which promotes kindness, respect, compassion, and positive mental health.
