My students are extremely diverse and come from all different economic and cultural backgrounds with very different life experiences. All of our learning is done at school and no projects are sent home and not too much homework is given.
It is up to the teachers to provide our students with as much hands-on learning experiences as possible and that is why our school philosophy is to learn social studies and science in a project based learning environment.
This allows all of our students to love learning about topics such as the history of Florida, rocks and minerals, natural resources and all about the phases of the moon.
What better way to cover our 4th grade standards than with project based learning and art integration? While fun, all of it requires costly materials and supplies which I cannot afford to pay for out of my own pocket.
As we begin our study of Florida's indigenous people, my students are brainstorming how to best recreate the tribal villages that they are researching.
My students have grand ideas that include clay, paint, sand, rocks, and more unique materials. With your donation I'll be able to provide my students with the tools and materials that they need to let their creativity shine.
