My Students

My students come from rural central West Virginia. We are the smallest school district by student population in the state. Students in my classes are in middle school and attend a 6-12 high school.

I teach students who are caring and kind and are looking for opportunities to enhance STEAM education in their classes.

I have several students who are served with Special Education services as well as many athletes.

Students come from homes where high-speed internet is unavailable or not a cost that families can afford. Students are often only exposed to technology here at school and we are working hard to prepare our students to be college and career ready given the limitations of where they live.

My Project

We are kicking off our first PBIS store and are in desperate need of more items for students to "purchase" with their tickets. This initiative is important to us because too many of our students are coming to school without basic social interaction skills.

Our students will be able to "purchase" items in the PBIS store with the tickets they have earned for displaying positive behaviors and interactions with students and staff.

These items have been selected by our students through a survey and we would really like to be able to give them the items they have asked for.

This will benefit all students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at our school!
