Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school in Texas where all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are a group of enthusiastic children who love to make, play, and experience music. I have the wonderful opportunity to teach all the student in my campus at least once a week. I want the students to have the tools to help them be successful in their classroom.
Most of my students come from a diverse background in which they struggle academically.
Despite their various challenges, the students walk into their classroom every day full of life. They try their best to experience music and all of its wonders. I want the students to know and believe that they can do anything.
My Project
Games for learning will help the students with the campus PBIS expectation to be respectful, be responsible, and to be safe. I can see the students excited about following the PBIS expectation to earn a chance to play with the interactive activities. Games are a wonderful tool to teach the students patience and thinking skills, as well as allowing the campus the opportunity to create a positive atmosphere.
My students need various sizes of inflatable bumper balls to improve peer relationship and make learning fun.
The versatility of these materials will allow for the games to be used as an incentive to encourage the student to continue demonstrating appropriate behaviors.
