Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a Title 1 school. All students in the school receive both free breakfast and lunch. Students come from low-income families, they suffer both at home and school just nearly scrapping by. Their socioeconomic status can greatly impact their education in varies ways, from having enough food at home to stay alert at school, to being able to take basic supplies to school to achieve their academic duties. The demographics of the school show that Hispanic, Latino and African American make up nearly the whole school population. Also the majority of Latino and Hispanic students at the school come from immigrant families and are at risk of dropping out or being left behind due to the language barriers.
My Project
My students have had the chance to use some technology in class but the ultimate goal is to be able to make technology available to my students at all times. I try to integrate the technology I have in the classroom but adding to the bit of technology I have could mean having more enriching lessons.
The tablets will allow my students the ability to participate in online games, reviews, online and other online class activities.
The same goes for the laptops but only the laptops will make it easier for students to research information such as looking up articles, and typing papers.
I want to be able to modernize my classroom to meet the needs for 21st century learner
