Kindergarten is an amazing place where play and academics weave together so students can have an amazing start to their academic careers. My kindergartners come into the classroom eager and ready to great the day and the many exciting opportunities to learn!
Our school is in its second year and we are still trying to build and grow.
Many schools are established, and we are on our way to becoming this, but right now we are using additional places to help us fund additional supplies.
The focus of the school is on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Our focus is hands-on, project-based learning. We work together to build those important 21st century skills. My students come into the classroom knowing that they are a part of a family, and we all work together to learn and to be smarter!
My Project
Art and music are such important parts of our lives. I realized at the end of last year I was not incorporating as much art and music as I felt my students deserved. I became inspired this summer by taking my own children to various museums in the area.
These materials will allow my students to explore with hands-on manipulatives.
The rhythm sticks will provide an outlet for students to hit and bang their sticks together to produce beautiful rhythms. They will learn collaboration and working together can make beautiful sounds.
I am inspired by the wheel. Students can put sand on the wheel to make different patterns of sand. They can also use it to make art by placing paper on the spinning wheel and put paint, crayon, or marker to create different designs.
