The kids at my school come to school each and every day energized and ready to learn. We are located in the great state of Nebraska. Our school is not a Title I school, so funding for extra supplies is not in the budget. There are students with family members serving in the military, students who are English Language Learners, and many more.
The students love math and science and we need more hands-on materials to develop the understanding of both these subject areas!
Kindergarten is an important year of school for the children.
It is the first year they are working together as a team, so every child can succeed!
My Project
My students need art materials so they can create patterns while working on their mathematical thinking. We need red, white, and green beads and pipe cleaners to make the patterns. Having these materials will allow the children multiple opportunities to make and identify different patterns while practicing their mathematical skills.
We need tornado tubes to demonstrate the formation and motion of tornadoes in our classroom.
Our science curriculum standards include the study of severe weather such as tornadoes.
We need weighted pencil grips to apply more pressure to help improve the writing abilities of some students. We need storage boxes to stay organized in the classroom.
