Our students deserve a 21st century education that allows them to not only access content, but to apply what they have learned in meaningful real-world experiences. Through highly engaging cross-curricular lessons, our students are learning collaboratively and not in subject isolation. We want them excited about what they are learning and talking about it in every class.

Their focus has been to create programs that highlight science and engineering as pathways for career and college readiness. The community has worked hard to build a reputation that puts science education as a district-wide priority.
We are part of a beautiful rural community that is successful at providing our students with a whole child education. Our school has over 50% low income and over 60% free and reduced lunch. Even with these obstacles, our community bands together to create rigorous academic opportunities for all students.
My Project
Our students will use the Dremel 3D printer to add to their ecosystems that they are designing in our cross-curricular Mars unit. Students have to research viable ecosystems and build an environment that will sustain life within the constraints of the project. This will enrich their experiences as they can have greater flexibility in designing and building their prototypes with the help of the 3D printer.
The 3D pens allow more students access to the technology and can assist in building and modifying prints.
The students are not just using the technology for building, but are also learning coding, and CAD programming. Students will need to communicate, apply critical thinking skills and be creative in how they complete their designs.
