Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Problem-solving, critical thinking, collaborating with others, and digital connected learning are some of the many tasks you will see from my gifted and talented students. To help extend my students' abilities, I am eager to give them an opportunity to engineer with robotic coding.
The skills the students will develop are essential for our innovators of tomorrow.
Robotic coding will allow my students to apply the engineering process in order to create their own coding. Since my classroom only has five student computers available at one time, our time is limited to the opportunities they currently have to learn coding skills during their one day a week visit with me. The curriculum provided from this training will be an excellent addition for my classroom technology and will give my students a personal expert to help them thrive and enhance their computer thinking skills.
My Project
This project is dedicated to strengthening my professional career as an educator by allowing me to attend an in-depth training at the Pathfinders Summer Institute in Bloomington, Indiana from July 14-19; specifically for the Junior Botball Challenge program.
This program allows the use of autonomous robotics-based technology to provide across the disciplines education that also provides students with collaborative, rigorous, goal-directed STEM activities that highlight academic and career pathways within STEM disciplines.
Students will develop their own computer coding skills by writing and creating their own coding coupled with real-life applications of the engineering process. This robotics program is sure to encompass 21st-century skills that students need in order to succeed in this information age.
