My students need a classroom digital camera to independently record brief monologues and skits in French.

I have the daily pleasure of working with highly motivated and dedicated French 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 AP students in our extremely economically and ethnically diverse urban high school.

In order to ensure that they will be competitive in collegiate French classes and subsequently our increasingly global economy, my students work extremely hard on a daily basis to ensure that they can speak, listen, write, and read in French. Never will they say "I studied French for 4 years, but I can't speak a word!" When my students continue their study of French at the collegiate level, they will be expected to be able to create blogs, short film video clip recordings, and short films in French to demonstrate and hone their real world usage of the language. Unfortunately, our world languages department does not have the funds to be able to purchase a digital camera for the students' use to begin practicing these skills on a slightly scaled-down level.

With a classroom digital camera, my students would be able to begin applying their hard work in French in a truly meaningful and personalized context. With the camera, they could begin shooting short news clip narratives, music clips, poetry recitation, and so much more in French.

With your help, my students will be able to develop, practice, advance, and hone the technological and French linguistic skills necessary to excel in collegiate level French classes and our global workforce. On behalf of my students and our French department, merci mille fois!!
