Parents Reading to Their Children in Their Native Language

Help me give my students whose parents speak only Spanish the chance to borrow books in Spanish; my students will borrow these books and ask their parents to read to them in their native language at home.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are always willing to learn and try new things. My school is in a low income community, 18 of my students come from Spanish speaking families and when I have ask them to read to their children they have said that they do not have books for children in Spanish.

I would like to provide books to these families by letting my students borrow a book a day to take home, they will return them the next day and borrow another one.

All my Spanish speaking students will rotate these books between them.

My students' parents are involved in their students' learning, having this books at home will help them provide support to their students.
