My students are in PreK. They attend a GE Title I school. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 70% of our students receiving free lunch. Some come from homes where they do not have much consistency in their lives.
"Play is our brain's favorite way of learning." Ralph Waldo Emerson
The PreK age is full of energy and curiosity. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. We have to keep them busy at all times. In school, students can seek out a consist lifestyle.
I am always trying to improve the communication between school and home. Students will benefit the most when teachers and parents have smooth lines of communication and work as a team. Having a kid-friendly, sturdy mailbox for my kids’ daily use will be a huge help in getting important messages, documents, student work, and school notices transported between school and home. Our lines of communication will be even more clear when there is an effective system made possible through this mailbox. Right now, my students do not have a place to put papers, folders and other things, and often things are lost.
