Help me give my students the supplies they need to be successful in the classroom. As a new teacher (beginning my second year), I have limited supplies for my students.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in my classroom can be described as curious, creative, and charismatic! Although many of my students have challenging home lives, they each have one thing in common: the passion to learn through exploration and engagement! However, the method and environment in which they learn best varies greatly by the student.
My students enter OUR classroom each day feeling a sense of security and belonging.
I strive to create a classroom environment that is not only comforting, but is based on the interests of my students. Different learning strategies, culturally appropriate materials, and alternative seating are incorporated in daily instruction to meet the needs of each student.
My Project
The materials I have selected for my project will be used daily in our classroom. With resources such as highlighters, pens, markers, construction paper, scissors/glue, my students will have the opportunity to be more engaged in their learning. Students can use highlighters and pens to correct their work and make changes when necessary. Various papers and art supplies will be great for posters and projects!
The majority of my students enter the classroom with solely their clothes/backpack on their back.
My students are quite creative and therefore love the opportunity to work with various materials. You'd be surprised how much kiddos love markers and pens! Your support would be greatly appreciated by Ms. Miller's magnificent students!
