My students are 14 wonderful little people who light up my life. All of them have IEPs and have some type of mental or physical disability, but that doesn't define who they are.
These future little professionals don't let their disabilities limit them in what they do and how far they go on a daily basis.
Their confidence and their ambition to overcome their obstacles in life give others who work around them the motivation to keep striving in their own endeavors.
Every student learns differently. I believe as a society we are beginning to see more and more studies that prove this. Everything from the way we learn, to the way we write, right down to the preference of seating in the classroom. Within my classroom, I strive to provide my students with the materials and tools needed in order for them to be successful within the learning environment. However, Hurricane Ida has taken all of the tools, I have been acquiring within the 14 years of my career.
My Project
The requested Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, Post-its, and Sharpie markers will be utilized to complete visual activities within our learning environment as we strive to rebuild our classroom after Hurricane Ida. Students need a visually stimulating learning environment to be able to actively participate within the learning environment. These materials provide an opportunity for students the ability to portray their learning in a differentiated perspective that will allow for less frustration and more motivation within the classroom setting. These materials are slowly being replenished within our classroom as we are starting over from scratch after being wiped out by Hurricane Ida.
