Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Lively, energetic, and kind are three words I would use to describe our young learners. Every day, they do their best to achieve all that they can. Our students desperately want to be actively involved in what they do in the classroom.
Living in a large city can be difficult for many young children.
My young learners live close to the downtown area in our city. They go to a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. Their basic food needs, except for dinner, are taken care of, but now they need something to sustain their minds.
My Project
So many things are needed for a successful start to a new school year. Some of these items are here in this project. At the school I teach at, many students come in without their supplies; therefore, I am requesting items for them. I could not even imagine coming to school without what I need.
Each and every day students write in school and in order to write they must have lined paper and pencils.
These pencils and papers will be used to keep logs, write stories, and much more. They will also use pencils while drawing on the manila paper ordered. When items have been drawn students will have the freedom to cut out their work using the scissors that have been requested.
Post-It chart paper and Sharpie chart markers have been ordered to make Anchor charts and for group project work.
