Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Who knew that paper was a luxury? With the challenges that face education today, all schools are taking cuts. But when you don't have textbooks and you don't have enough paper to make the necessary copies for your students, what else is left?
My students are some of the most amazing individuals you will ever meet.
Growing up in the inner city, my students have faced challenges and struggles that most of us only read or hear about but have never had to live. They now have the opportunity to attend a charter school in their area but we don't have the resources to properly teach them the way they need to be taught.
My Project
Each teacher at our school was provided with one case of paper for the entire semester. Even with saving and scrimping, I was only able to make this paper last for a month and a half. So now I am asking for a donation of paper; both regular and colored. The regular paper will be used to make everyday copies of worksheets and activities that are imperative for my students to learn. The curriculum that we have been provided requires that we make worksheets for every lesson and we don't have textbooks. The colored paper will allow me to make copies of different versions of our exams and to help with differentiated activities.
This donation will allow me to provide my students with the necessary resources they need to learn.
I currently have three-quarters of a case left that I purchased...and this has to last me until December. Please help provide my students with the materials they need!
