This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work in an inner city school with a very diverse population. All of the students live in the neighborhood, yet some are middle class and others are homeless. Regardless of their home lives, they all come to school every day, eager to learn something new.
My students are, simply put, amazing!
They push me out of my comfort zone and make me want to be a better teacher. Every challenge I've given them they've not only met, but surpassed. I am so lucky that I get to be their teacher.
My Project
Kindergarten is a foundational year for students. As such, they need engaging activities to spark their love of learning and keep them motivated.
This supply of paper WILL NOT be used for worksheets.
Instead, we will use the paper to create books for personal and classroom library use, center activities, writing projects, and craft projects.
My students LOVE to write stories and share them with others. They use a variety of writing papers (with and without lines, with various sizes of boxes for illustrations) to write stories, write letters, or create little pick me ups for family and friends. The writing center is one of their favorite places to be when given free choice time.
