Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a diverse bunch that reside in a poverty-stricken area with big dreams and hope for more. My campus was affected by Hurricane Harvey. Due to damages, we started school two weeks late on August 25th with extended school hours. My kids are excited for everyone to be back in class as it is a sense of normalcy in the midst of everything else that's going on in our city of Houston, TX.

We are a Title I School, and many of our students do not have opportunities that many other children have.

My Project

My project consists of paper and glue that are indispensable resource in science. Research shows the more kids have exposure to printed materials and manipulative. After experiencing Hurricane Harvey a lot of our materials and supplies were lost to the storm, we are still in the recovery process.

My project the "Paper Chase", will give my students enriching activities on printed material, such as projects, tests, graphic organizers, and a plethora of differentiated material to reach the different learning styles in my community.

Donating to our project will help to defray the cost of materials and allow my students to achieve in an every growing technological world.
