My students need copy paper, printer toner, paper towels and correction tape.
They also need tablets, which will provide the 1st graders the chance to use different apps to improve their skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am teaching a fabulous group of 25 bilingual, low-income, Kindergarten students in East Oakland, Bay Area, California.
I was lucky to have this group last year and this school year, I have looped with these same students to 1st grade to continue supporting them and giving them an excellent education.
We are two 1st grade bilingual groups and 1 English only. Nowadays my school district is facing difficult times with big budget cuts that affect teachers and students.
This budget cuts have left our classrooms empty of basic supplies such as paper, markers, stickers, pencils...
Despite all the challenges these students face daily, they are all learners with great potential. Together, we can help them achieve their English language and other academic goals!
My Project
Thanks to different donations, last year my scholars got different class supplies: pencils, erasers, a few markers, folders...
Unfortunately, due to the budgets cuts education is suffering, my amazing students in 1st grade are missing something as basic as paper.
I am using this project not only to get them paper but also to get 6 tablets that will be used for different skills such as Reading (Reading A to Z), Math, English Language Development...
Two years ago, through Donors Choose I got a project funded with these same tablets. This gave me the chance to give personalized attention and differentiate education based on students needs. Unfortunately with the moving the school went through this summer we are missing 2 of them.
The tablets are also sent home to struggling readers on the weekends to motivate them.
