I have the privilege of teaching 29 second-grade ESL students who love school and come in ready to learn each day.
We are a diverse group coming from many different backgrounds, but we all have a common love of learning.
We are in a high-poverty area, many have limited English skills, and some are even fleeing war-torn countries for a better life with their families. These students work so hard and are optimistic and enthusiastic, despite the challenges or barriers many of them face. My greatest reward is watching them succeed!
My Project
Unfortunately, my school is closed this school year due to the coronavirus pandemic. I have been busy planning virtual lessons, gathering resources, teaching virtual lessons, and utilizing online resources. It has been a whirlwind! I am always thinking of ways to meet the needs of all of my learners and help them reach their goals. My students need printable activities and lessons that they can work on at home. My students' parents have also requested printables for their children.
Most of my students do not have access to a printer at home.
I am requesting pens and paper so that I can print learning activities for my students. They will love the flair pens and colored paper.
