Paper and Ink to Start School Year 13-14 on the Right Foot
My students need ink and paper to print projects in the library.
While some students dread the end of summer, other are excited to start fresh with a new school year in September. The end of summer is a mad rush to stock up on school supplies. Papers, pencils, notebooks, new school clothes, and these days that includes ink and paper for their home printers.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds, but over 60% of our school population are eligible for free or reduced lunch.
While they are highly motivated to learn, it means that they sometimes have to choose what is necessity and what is an extra. For many of our students when they shop for school supplies ink and paper for their home printer (if they even have one) is an extra and they rely on the library'Âs computers to print out their daily assignments.library's
Aside from borrowing books, the second greatest demand in the library is to print assignments. By funding this project our students will be able to come into the library and know that they can print hassle free. They won't have to worry that due to tight budgets the library cannot supply them with ink and paper either!
Don't let the school year start on the wrong foot for our students.
Let's provide them with the resources that so many families have to put on the chopping block. Let them come to the library knowing that they can find all the resources they need for a successful year of learning.
