Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hard-working, kind, and inspired. They come to school expecting to learn, and they are excited at the possibilities to learn new things every day.
My students come from a mostly low-socioeconomic background, with many of my students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
Although my students have a less than ideal home life, they still deserve the very best education, and that's exactly what I intend to give them. They want (and deserve) a challenge and a teacher who comes ready to challenge them!
My Project
Throughout the school year, it is important for students to have resources that are easy to use and memorable. This helps improve their memory retention, but it also captivates their minds and makes them want to remember what we're learning. That is why I have created this project.
My students need colorful paper, glue, and tape to help create a math notebook that keeps them wanting to come back for more knowledge and information!
We specifically use colorful paper as a memory trick. Research shows that students can often remember the color of paper their notes were on, which can help them remember what the notes say. We use Elmers' Glue All and packing tape to ensure that our notes stay in our notebook, exactly where they should be. There's nothing worse than a note insert going missing!
