This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our STEM Academy is designed to target our high poverty, special needs, ELLs, and highly gifted students with opportunities to work as diverse teams in different fields like my Gardening students. Student discovery is highly valued. We believe our children show what it takes to be active learners.
Our goal is to show off the unique talents and abilities our diverse STEM students bring, in order to improve our school.
STEM students are hard workers. These students love figuring out ways to solve our world's problems. Each STEM student helps the others learn new skills. Students are expected to push through failure. These kids use trial and error as motivators. These are the kids who stay after class because they want to keep exploring the endless possibilities provided in our dynamic STEM Academy. Student discovery is highly valued. We believe our children show what it takes to be active learners. Here students learn to be in charge of their own discovery through technology, asking questions, and making mistakes until the team gets it right. Capturing these memories is important to our students. Memories make learning fun.

My Project
Competition is everything to our learners today. This year, our students want to design award buttons in order to recognize our STEM Academy Graduates and their successes. Students compete to create designs. Students will then display different creations. Students will be invited into the classroom to judge the artwork. Students will tally the points and share the top design for the STEM Academy Graduates buttons.
My STEM Academy students are unique because they want to create, design and make their own buttons to show off their pride in our Academy.
Making STEM Academy buttons, will add fun memories for our students to share. Over two-hundred students will be able to design and make their own buttons. Students will also take pictures of other students in process of making their own buttons. Every student will make a button of their own. We appreciate every opportunity we are given by generous donors. Every powerful experience is as a result of cool equipment like a button maker to ensure every student remembers the excitement of hands on learning. You make teaching easy and learning fun! Let's make memories our children will never forget, learning is fun!
