My students need a plethora of music materials: reward certificates for recorder, a ukulele book, educational DVDs, a frog hand puppet, and curriculum ensemble pieces.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
If you were to walk into our music class on any given day, anything would be a go! We might be working on drumming ensembles, recorder pieces, singing songs, dancing to Shakira, or learning solfege and folk songs.
My students attend three separate elementary schools in North Carolina.
I am a traveling music educator and service approximately 700 K-5 general music students weekly. The schools vary from high-need, high poverty Title 1 to middle class. I get them all!
My students are a wonderful collection of personalities and possibilities. Their musical preferences greatly differ, though it is my desire to let them experience as much as possible, from as many different genres as possible!
My Project
We are asking for a plethora of music materials that include a frog hand puppet, Mozart Wunderkind DVDs, drumming ensemble pieces from around the world, musical books and CDs, and CD, curriculum enrichment guides, and magazine organizers. These materials will benefit the children year after year.
Your assistance will bring a fresh breath of musical air to approximately 700 students every year.
These materials will be eagerly consumed and greatly appreciated. DVDs, hand puppets, books and CDs and organizational materials allow us to step beyond our county, state, and national musical expectations and standards.
