My kindergarten students come from diverse backgrounds. Our classroom is part of a large urban school district which consist 100 percent of Title 1 schools. Our pre-k through grade 8 school houses a high number students that have English as a second language, a French-American program as well as the the transience of a high military population.
My classroom is full of diverse languages, cultures, socio-economic statuses, and learning styles.
But no matter how different these students are, they have one thing in common, the motivation to learn and the strength to succeed no matter their challenges. As you can see these kids are strong, diverse and very unique!
My Project
The Square Panda Early Learning System is specifically designed to expose early learners to learn letters and sounds in a fun engaging playful manner that turns literacy into play. The Early Learning Systems will be used with the Ipads currently used in our classrooms to deepen the foundation of literacy in early learners.
The Square Panda deepens literacy through tactile differentiated activities that utilize technology.
The students are able to work alone or with their teacher in a small group setting when using the Square Panda. These Square Panda learning systems will be utilized and shared between 2 kindergarten classrooms, which will permit teachers to set up group and individual work areas that will foster a collaborative work environment.
