Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The soccer program at Palmetto High School is not just another afterschool sport that happens from October to January, where the players come, practice, play some games, and then the season is over. It's a group of young men that have worked hard to create a family unit both on and off the pitch. It’s a group of young men that pour their hearts into the game and each other all year long to play, grow, and support one another.
They are a family of diverse backgrounds that mesh together to pursue one goal and live by the motto “one team, one town.” The donations being requested will help the JV and Varsity boys' soccer teams continue to learn and refine their skills and become better student-athletes.
These student-athletes will learn life skills on the field that can be applied to the classroom, such as leadership, dedication, teamwork, organization, and responsibility. The above-mentioned qualities, with the help of your generous donation, will give our players an opportunity to be successful on the pitch and provide them with an opportunity for higher education that many would not have had based on socioeconomic status.
