Get ready to engage in technology and the arts! My students have been involved in fine arts, performing arts and writing. They have written over twenty papers so far this year along with an art project for each assignment. I know that the creativity from the art projects and the building through Minecraft has provided students with a confidence boost! Children are asking to come in at lunch to write.
Students come from diverse homes in Northwest Fresno.
I am building the future for our next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs. After so many years of not being engaged inside the classroom, students are starved for opportunities that engage them in their learning. Many of the students are lonesome from divorced, separated, and working parents. When the students are engaged in their learning, they are at ease and in another zone of happiness. It takes a special learning environment, to keep up with the gaming world!
Encouraging students to love writing is a very challenging task. I have found that when students are engaged with an art activity to support their writing the interest level in higher. We are in need of a class set of water colors.
Allowing students to express their creativity through painting provides more opportunities for writing.
This year so far the students have written twenty assignments. They have been engaged with writing poetry, narrative writing, (learned to use dialogue), and informational writing. I have provided an art project for every writing project.
This year has been so much fun watching the students grow! They are enjoying writing poems, and have become successful using dialogue. Painting makes a huge difference in keeping children's interest!
