My students have a blast when they arrive in art. I love to stand at my door and see their smiling faces coming in. They deserve a break from their other academic disciplines, and in art they can let loose and express themselves without worrying about "right answers."
I feel privileged to be their teacher, and I aim to create an art environment where they'll feel rewarded by their persistence and engaged in discovering a new form of expression in the arts.
I want them to see the art room as a safe place where incredible discoveries can happen and always know that they are respected and valued as artists and individuals.
My Project
My students need transparent acrylic paint to work on expressive glass-window style paintings inspired by Marc Chagall. We will be studying the art element of color and art history while creating like paintings that will look like glass windows.
Students will experiment with a few different color palettes to emphasize a chosen emotion.
They will learn how color can express different moods in an artwork. We also need painting paper and brushes to stock up our studio and continue our visual journey throughout the year.
Every child loves to paint and like Einstein said -- Creativity is intelligence having fun.
