My Project

Our kindergarteners come to school every day eager to connect and learn. One of their favorite times of the week is art class. We try to incorporate as much art into our week as possible, but we are limited by time and resources. To help our students gain more experience with painting, we would love to add sets of tempera paint cakes to our classroom. Students will use these during play based learning time and also to help extend content learning. In our upcoming plants unit, students will use the tempera cakes to paint and then label parts of a plant. They will also use them when painting observations of plant life cycle. By giving students the opportunity to incorporate art into content learning, students will be more engaged and will also continue to develop fine motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination.
