My students are from a rural community that serves a high population of at-risk students. More three quarters of our students come from economically disadvantage homes. It is extremely important to our community that our students receive educational opportunities. We are a STEM academy school, striving to improve in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. This program is really taking off and students are excited to see the possibilities available to them.

My Project
My students will be using canvas, paint brushes and paint to create their work of art based on famous paintings by historical artists. After researching the time period, the artists and their painting techniques, they will sketch and paint their own creations. Their projects will be based on famous art and painting techniques they learned about while doing their research.
Students will be learning about famous works of art, and using the art supplies provided in the project to bring their own art to life.
Students will then record a presentation about their art project and the artist that influenced their work.
