We've got painting on the brain and we want to be able to add new and interesting textures to our artwork using a variety of acrylic mediums. Help us break the norm! I teach Art to 6-12 graders at a high poverty school and we need your help! We have a very limited budget that doesn't quite fit our extensive creativity, big imagination, and drive to produce quality artwork!
I teach Visual Arts, and supervise the Art Club. My students are very interested in using a variety of acrylic mediums in their artwork to create new and interesting textures. It is awesome that they want to try something new! The problem is that the texture mediums are expensive and we're on a very tight budget. We would love to add cool effects like black lava, glass beads, and stucco to our paintings, but we need you to help bring our hopes to life!
We need acrylic paint mediums that provide textural effects. We have painted with regular paint and while the kids enjoy it, they are asking for more opportunities to experiment with different mediums! I see over 100 kids a day so supplies don't go very far. With this project, my kids can learn to mix their own creative combinations of paint and mediums to use for their masterpieces! I want to give them this kind of opportunity because those that pursue Art as a career will need a variety of experiences to prepare for their college classes. I want them to be able to think outside the box and have multiple media and process experiences under their belt so that they may perform better at that level. We are in the process of building a foundation for a strong Art Program. I want to provide my students with unique opportunities like this one which will support and encourage their talents and imagination!
I need your help in providing my students with this opportunity. I am so excited that they are beginning to take a real interest in art! But to keep them involved I know I need to continue to provide new and interesting experiences for them. With your help, I can give my students the chance to use unique mediums in their paintings.
