My Students

Every day my students walk in the classroom door eager and ready to learn. Each day I am amazed by their creativity and passion for the world around them. Throughout the year we learn about Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, Jackie Robinson, Amelia Earhart, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and so much more. I watch as their eyes fill with excitement and inspiration. They to want to go out and make a difference.

They are budding leaders.

They are the future. I want to give them the tools to be successful. Each student has great potential that is waiting to be discovered.

My Project

Art education in school is often thought of as a luxury. Often art is cut from the curriculum all together. However, art instruction helps children with motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.

When integrating art into the classroom, students can make connections that accelerate their learning, interests and passions.

Using the requested paint and paper, students will have the opportunity to connect spoken words with visual models. This is especially important for English Language Learners that have a difficult time expressing themselves in the written language. In addition, students will be able to practice important social skills when presenting their work with the class!
