My students need paint to help brighten the days and halls in their second home.

Could you imagine school being the most secure and stable place in your life? The one place you know a hot meal will be waiting for you? How about asking your teacher if you could take a nap because it's the one place you feel safest.
Every child should know someone in life is on their side and believes in them.
My students come from a neighborhood most people try to avoid. Some students come to school hungry because their last meal was lunch at school the day before. Some of my students come to school without their homework done, not because the dog ate it, but because they currently don't have lights on until mom finds help paying the bill. My school is 100% free breakfast and lunches.
When my students enter the art studio, not only does their imagination grow, but so does their superhero skills. My students are all considered superheros because when the rest of the world has thought to give up, they will rise above and succeed. Art helps people see the world a little different. Color makes the world a little brighter when it should seem dullest. And happiness comes from inspiring others.
Did you know the art department is constantly getting budget cuts? What fun would elementary school be without learning to paint and color, learning how to cut paper lanterns, and learn to make our mothers pinch pots for Mother's Day?
Imagine being a Superhero without a Super Cape.
Teaching children art helps students with their motor skills, showing students how to hold paint brushes, and scribble inside lines with crayons, holding scissors and using them helps these skills as well. Art also helps students learn shapes, colors and actions. This constantly builds students decision making skills. One of arts major benefits for a child is the way it can teach them how to focus their attention on certain details. Toddlers know how to use tablets and phones before they know how to read, proving that children are constantly learning visually.
Ordering new paints will help my students learn a different variety of media. We are limited to our supply order, which we only get to submit once a school year and sometimes we don't have the funds to get all supplies. I would like my students to have more paint and be able to create masterpieces. Tempera cakes are easier to paint with larger groups of students instead of having to constantly walk around and add more paint to pallets. I can use this time to walk around and give students one on one painting advice. Kwik Stix are a great way to teach my younger students paint control, it is also less messy for them to use.
