Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This school year our classroom has transformed into a Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten combination classroom with 30 students! Transitional Kindergarten at my elementary school is the place where learning begins. For some students, it is the first time in a school environment. We have many English as a second language students who come to school excited to learn. We use all our teaching skills to make sure all students are provided with every opportunity to learn. We work to create students whose futures are focused on college and career choices that will enable them to be anything their hearts desire.
My Project
As the school year hits the half-way mark, many of our basic supplies are dwindling. We have recently created an art area just for painting, and we need a fresh set of colors to make our painting creations come to life! We are now in the stage where writing sentences is something we want to do on our own and these just-right size pencils are just the thing to help us do our best! Our teacher does a lot of work at the tiny tables in our room and she would love to have a table to do her work that is easy on her back!
Basic school supplies are plentiful at the beginning of the school year, but as we go into the second half of the school year, many supplies are not readily available.
We would love a fresh set of paints, some great pencils that fit our tiny fingers, and a work table for our teacher to get her work done too!
