Davinci, Picasso, Van Gogh, they all started somewhere.
I currently teach 18 Pre-K students in a Title 1 school in Brooklyn, NY.
Many of my students come from low income families, some barely being able to afford basic school supplies. Despite their economic status, my students come to school each day with the biggest smiling faces. You would never know they lack many luxuries, which we quite often take for granted.
Empowering students through art is one of main ways of teaching my students. Being so young, my students love anything that's messy, especially paint. As soon as I mention we are going to paint in our flow of the day, they start asking "is it time to paint yet?" They love it! I am asking for an easel which will allow 4 students to paint at once during center time. I currently have a broken easel, which only allows one child at a time to paint. This easel will give my students more access to the painting center, allowing them to visit it more often.
Your generous donations will help me empower my students through art, specifically painting.
My students will be able to paint multiple times a week, and you never know, maybe will become the next Pollack.
