Creative minds should not be held back due to funding. These students love to get messy in the art room. There faces light up every time they come into the art room! They love to create!
Our community has been affected by Hurricane Florence and we are slowly recovering.
Staff and students have lost their homes and most are in the process of repairing and financially recovering. We are a title one school with most of our students and their families look to us for support when there are times in need. With your support, our students will receive much needed Art supplies.
We are held back from the lack of funding but we will always find a way! The students create amazing projects from recycled materials and other donated items. We are a Title I school and these students work too hard everyday not to have amazing projects.
My Project
My student love to paint, watercolors, tempera or acrylic! They love mixing colors and creating amazing works of arts. They especially love how canvas because it doesn't warp or bend like our normal drawing paper does.
Our normal school budget covers all my drawing paper I could imagine but we lack a proper surface for our painting.
Having a real canvas in the students hands will help them feel like a professional artist rather than a beginner. My main goal for my art room is to facilitate an environment in which all my students truly feel successful and safe to explore their artistic goals.
