Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is filled with amazing and curious students. They reflect the diversity San Francisco offers and engage in our school community with enthusiasm and passion. My students come into the room with so much to offer the world; creativity, life experience, laughter, raw emotion, and love. I make sure each student, their experiences and communities are represented, valued and appreciated.
Our days are filled with reading and writing a wide variety of texts and discussing larger themes and multiple perspectives.
Students read and write independently, and in small groups to learn with and from their peers.
My Project
This year I have the pleasure of teacher 3 classrooms Art! Art days are so relaxing after a week of vigorous learning. Students are able to unwind and let their creativity flow onto paper. These materials will help us create wonderful works of art in both 3D and 2D. Students will be exploring using clay, legos, and pastels this year. The goal is for students to build an art portfolio in order to showcase their amazing work at the end of the year with our school's very first art show!
