Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an amazing group of third grade STEAM magnet students. We enjoy challenging each other to grow mentally, physically, and emotionally.
My students are enthusiastic, creative, focused, and enjoy a hands-on approach to learning.
They are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and to have a positive mindset in everything they do. It's exciting that they come to school eager to learn. My students attend a Title I school in a low-income area. The entire school participates in a free breakfast and lunch program.
My Project
I am so excited to once again bring art canvases to my students. In June 2012, I requested my first set of 9x12 canvas panels, brushes, and acrylic paints. Every year after that, I have requested and received canvases, paints, brushes, art books, and so much more to bring life to the Arts.
This year, I am requesting canvases and acrylic paints to bring life to my students' study and appreciation of the Arts and the Masters who painted the art.
My students will use our classroom Chromebooks and art books to research and study the life, style, and works of different Masters as well as how their Master influenced history. Then they will use what they learned to create a frame of the life of their Master and replicate one of their masterpieces on the white construction paper. Then each student will create their own masterpiece by sketching on the canvas and painting with acrylics.
I'm excited to see how my students will express their creativity as they study and paint like the Masters.
